Running with RouteMate

Running route recommendations

RouteMate recommends recreational running routes for a clear target while keeping pace, route effort and route environment as separate choices.

Distance-led runs

Request common distances such as 3 km, 5 km or 10 km, or use a custom target up to 15 km. Easy, Steady and Fast pace choices change the estimated duration and pace fit without changing an explicit distance target. The 15 km maximum keeps RouteMate focused on finding a quality route.

Time-led runs

For a time target, the selected pace helps estimate the distance the route should cover. A different pace can therefore require different route geometry.

Sightseeing runs

Choose Main sights when you want a run that passes mapped attractions. You set the furthest the complete route may be; RouteMate lists only sights verified against the returned route and may use less than the full allowance for a better landmark set.

Route quality before headline score

  • Routes are checked against exact and near target bands.
  • Repeated geometry and serious effort or simplicity mismatches are removed from weak fallback results.
  • Distinct routes are preferred over cosmetic variations of the same line.

Export or transfer the chosen line

GPX and private RouteMate transfer preserve the selected route geometry. Google Maps is an approximate handoff and can recalculate the path.
