Beta terms

RouteMate terms of use

These terms apply to the RouteMate closed beta. Please read them with the privacy policy.

Version and last updated: 21 July 2026

1. The beta service

RouteMate provides walking and running route suggestions, private saved routes, transfers, exports, feedback and optional personal progress features. The beta is evolving, may contain errors and may change or be unavailable. It does not provide live navigation, emergency assistance, medical advice or a guarantee that a route is safe, open, legal or suitable.

2. Your responsibility outdoors

Use your judgement before and during an outing. Check local access, signage, weather, daylight, traffic, surfaces and personal capability. Do not follow a suggestion that appears unsafe, inaccessible, private, closed or inconsistent with current conditions. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.

3. Accounts and acceptable use

Provide accurate account information, keep credentials secure and notify RouteMate of suspected unauthorised access. Do not misuse the service, probe or bypass security or capacity controls, interfere with other users, scrape the service at scale, upload unlawful content or use routes or transfers to expose another person's private location.

4. Your content and privacy

You retain responsibility for names, notes, feedback and photos you choose to use. You give RouteMate permission to store and process submitted information only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service as described in the privacy policy. Photos used for branded posts remain in your browser unless you share them through another app.

5. Third-party services

Maps, route calculation, weather, authentication, hosting, transfer destinations and social sharing may depend on third-party services. Their data, availability and terms may apply. RouteMate is not responsible for changes made by a mapping app after handoff or for content and conduct on third-party services.

6. Intellectual property

RouteMate's software, branding and original content remain protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Mapping and provider data remains subject to its source licences and attribution. A private, revocable right to use the beta for personal, non-commercial purposes does not transfer ownership.

7. Suspension and ending access

You may stop using RouteMate at any time and request account-data deletion. Beta access may be limited or suspended to protect users, providers or the service, respond to misuse or comply with law. Where practical, reasonable notice will be given before a material service closure.

8. Consumer rights and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable Australian consumer guarantees. Subject to those rights, RouteMate is provided on a beta and as-available basis. To the extent permitted by law, RouteMate is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from reliance on a route suggestion, third-party data or beta interruption.

9. Changes and contact

Material changes will update the version date and, where practical, be brought to users' attention. The operator's public legal and business details must be completed before broader public launch. For questions about these terms, use the contact details in your beta invitation for terms questions. A public email address will be added before broader release.
